Your Friday Distraction Has Arrived!

Got a Lot of Work On? Why Not Completely Ignore it and Enjoy This Instead.

HELLO MY DARLINGS! Jeez do we have a chock-full email of complete nonsense this week! There is a lot to get through, so strap yourself in. Let’s Do This.

First up, I was absolutely devastated to hear that Tina Turner, the woman who provided a very large portion of the soundtrack of my childhood, sadly passed away this week - so a tribute comic was obviously in order:

While perusing various comics drawn by other people (yeah, I do research) I came across this one by David Sipress and really loved the set-up, so took it as inspiration and played around with the dynamic and the caption…

While drawing it, I thought it’d be nice to give each army their own insignia, which ultimately led to this alternative caption…

Of course, rather than changing the caption, you can keep the caption and just change the scene…

Guess what? We’re not even a third of the way through this week’s haul! I have been BUSY on the pens this week.

Before we continue, just need to put in a quick bit of awkward self-promotion here:

OK! sorry about that (gotta be done, you get it) - Next Up, it’s One Word Comics time!

For anyone new here, this is where I get given a One Word Topic from random followers on Instagram and attempt to turn that prompt into a (hopefully funny) comic.

First word this week was actually two words, but you just can’t pass up the suggestion “Big Cock”

(don’t worry, if you’re at work it’s fine to scroll down)

Next up, we have the prompt “Woodworking”

Next up I got the opportunity to briefly go back to my former career with the prompt “Architecture”

From there, we went and got nerdy with the prompt “Pavlov”…

Next up was a prompt that, as an Australian living in Germany really hit close to the bone, so wasted no time taking “Visa” down the convoluted German bureaucratic nightmare route.

Ok! We’re in the home stretch now… been saving some of my favourites for the end! Next word up we have “Trampoline”

Now, at this point I’m not even sure if I was still doing One-Word-Topics, all I remember about this one is that I drew it after two Gin & Tonics, while sitting in a lovely Biergarten, so make of that what you will…

Honestly, I think for this next one I just wanted an excuse to draw some little art works…
